Ethan Walsh is a self taught oil painter currently based in Pacific Grove, CA. Originally focused on illustration and portraiture, he ventured in a new direction in 2018 when, inspired by the California coast, he began painting en plein air. 

His plain air work showcases the light and atmosphere of the stunning Monterey Bay. Walsh’s textural, painterly style captures the experience of standing at the edge of the water. 

Ethan Walsh divides his time between his Cannery Row art studio and the coast. He feels his plein air work balances his more visceral portraiture studio work. When not painting he enjoys relaxed weekends with with his wife and two children.
